Polyurethane TPU is the synthetic reaction product of diisocyanate, macromolecular polyol and chain extender. The characteristics of each polyurethane are determined by its different structure. Polyurethane is composed of hard segment and soft segment, among which diisocyanate and chain extender constitute the hard segment, and macromolecular polyol constitutes the soft segment. By changing the ratio of these two segments, polyurethanes of different hardness can be produced, such as 72A soft and 84D hard. Polyurethane can be divided into aromatic or aliphatic polyurethanes according to the chemical properties of the diisocyanate component in its composition. Aromatic polyurethane and aliphatic polyurethane have some similar properties, so they are very suitable for medical devices.
